Lauren Walch, a Texas educator with extensive teaching and administrative experience, has been named principal at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School.  Walch’s appointment was approved by the Boerne ISD Board of Trustees at its regular meeting November 13.

Walch comes to Fair Oaks Ranch after serving as principal at Mason Elementary and Junior High in Mason, Texas.  Current Fair Oaks Ranch principal Jamie Robinson becomes the principal of the district’s newest campus, Van Raub Elementary, in January.

“I am excited about the appointment of Ms. Walch,” said Boerne ISD superintendent Tommy Price.  “We conducted an extensive interview process for this important positive, engaging parents, teachers and administrators in the process. Everyone was very impressed by Ms. Walch’s abilities as an academic leader who has the skills and personality to build relationships with students, staff, and community.  She is going to be a terrific addition to our educational community.”

Walch is currently principal of the combined elementary and junior high campus in Mason.  Previously, she served as assistant principal and academic dean in Kerrville.  She also has two years of administrative experience as a curriculum specialist for San Antonio ISD.  She also taught mathematics in public schools in San Antonio.

Throughout her administrative career, Walch has placed an emphasis on instructional leadership, organizational improvement and strong parent/community relationships and communications.

Walch graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mathematics and earned her Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas-San Antonio.
